The 16th Green Logistics Partnership Conference to be Held Winners of Awards under the Excellent Green Logistics Commendation Program will be recognized at the conference

On December 13 (Wed.), 2017, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the Japan Institute of Logistics Systems (JILS), and the Japan Association for Logistics and Transport will jointly hold the 16th Green Logistics Partnership Conference at Nikkei Conference Room.

At the 16th conference, a commendation ceremony will be held to recognize businesses for their remarkable contributions to the establishment of sustainable logistics systems by reducing environmental burdens in the logistics sector or improving productivity in terms of logistics, and winners will make presentations explaining their recognized efforts.

1. Outline of the conference

The Green Logistics Partnership Conference was established in April 2005 through joint efforts between METI, MLIT, and related industrial organizations as organizers to expand collaborative efforts between consignors and logistics business operators for reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the logistics sector in Japan. The conference undertakes efforts to raise public awareness of green logistics based on partnerships between consignors and logistics business operators, to recognize remarkable achievements, and to promote those achievements.

2. Excellent Green Logistics Commendation Program

Under the program, businesses that have made remarkable contributions to the establishment of sustainable logistics systems by reducing environmental burdens in the logistics sector or improving productivity in terms of logistics are recognized as winners of METI Minister’s Awards and METI Director-General for Commerce and Service Industry Policy Awards.
