Logo for IC Credit Card Affiliated Stores Determined As an Effort for Making Such Stores Noticeable to Consumers

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hereby announces that the Japan Consumer Credit Association (chairman: Mr. Naoe Sugimoto; JCA) determined a logo representing IC credit card affiliated stores to make such stores noticeable and identifiable to consumers.

1. Outline

In light of the Diet's resolution incidental to the revision of the Installment Sales Act, in March 2017, the Credit Transaction Security Council formulated an Action Plan for the Consolidation of Security Measures for Credit Card Transactions. Since the formulation of the plan, the JCA, METI, credit card companies, credit card affiliated stores, consumer associations and other entities have been discussing approaches to making IC credit card affiliated stores noticeable and identifiable to consumers, as an effort under the plan, and they finally determined a logo representing IC credit card affiliated stores.
