Announcement of Winners of Awards under the Excellent Green Logistics Commendation Program Awards to be presented at the 16th Green Logistics Partnership Conference

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry(METI), jointly with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism(MLIT)and related industrial organizations, has been conducting the Excellent Green Logistics Commendation Program to recognize projects that have made remarkable contributions to the establishment of sustainable logistics systems, based on partnerships between consignors and logistics business operators.

METI hereby announces the winners of the awards under the FY2017 program. The commendation ceremony will be held during the 16th Green Logistics Partnership Conference on December 13(Wed.), 2017.

1. Outline of the conference

The Green Logistics Partnership Conference was established in April 2005 through joint efforts between METI, MLIT, and related industrial organizations in order to expand collaborative efforts between consignors and logistics business operators for reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the logistics sector in Japan. The conference has been making efforts to raise public awareness of green logistics based on partnerships between consignors and logistics business operators, recognize excellent case examples, and promote publicity.

At the 16th conference, a commendation ceremony will be held to recognize businesses, respectively by METI and MLIT, for their remarkable projects in which they have contributed to the establishment of sustainable logistics systems, in particular. At the ceremony, the winners will make a presentation concerning their efforts.
