1. Background and purpose

In December 2017, METI established the Study Group for Industrial Cybersecurity to uncover challenges in cybersecurity that Japanese industries are facing and to promote related polices. At the second meeting, the working group will hold discussions on a draft proposal of the framework, a streamlined outcome of discussions in light of international trends in the related fields and experts’ opinions stated at the first meeting.

The working group will continue to discuss the framework, expand discussion targets to respective industries such as the building industry, and advance discussions on field-based cybersecurity policies.
