Call for Outstanding Businesses as Applicants for FY2018 Excellent Green Logistics Commendation Program

July 2, 2018

Joint Press Release with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

On July 2 (Mon.) 2018, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) started a call for outstanding businesses as applicants for the FY2018 Excellent Green Logistics Commendation Program. Under this program, METI and MLIT will select projects which have made remarkable contributions to establishing sustainable logistics systems through reductions of environmental burdens and improvements in effectivity as winners of the Excellent Green Logistics Commendation Program.

Winners will make presentations on their efforts at a Green Logistics Partnership Conference to be held in December 2018.

1. Outline of the Green Logistics Partnership Conference

Establishment of sustainable logistics systems through reduction of environmental burdens and improvements in effectivity in the logistics industry requires consignors and logistics business operators to implement cutting-edge efforts to improve logistics systems through mutual collaboration and cooperation both involving their own knowledge (through partnerships) and conducting individual, in-house efforts. The Green Logistics Partnership Conference is an opportunity to support the industry in conducting such cooperative efforts and to popularize and facilitate the Green Logistics Partnership program.
