At ENEX2010, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will host the following events aimed at facilitating the business application of energy conservation and new energy technologies, which are Japan’s strengths, and providing information that will encourage people to change their lifestyles. It is hoped that these events will contribute to the creation of a low-carbon society.
On the first day of ENEX2010 (February 10), an award ceremony will be held for the winners of the METI Minister’s Award, the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy Director-General’s Award, and other awards of the Energy Conservation Grand Prize.
In the award exhibit section, products that have received the METI Minister’s Award of the FY 2009 Energy Conservation Grand Prize will be on display, and an electric vehicle, i-Miev, will be available for a test ride.
There will be an area dedicated to providing information on government efforts to create a low-carbon society. The energy policy information section will show how energy consumption differs between new and old home appliances and visually illustrate CO2 emissions, while the energy conservation section will display a net-zero energy building (ZEB) model and provide an outline of the amended Law concerning the Rational Use of Energy.
