The Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award is a program established in 2005 for the purpose of recognizing and publicizing outstanding skills of monodzukuri professionals and various efforts to improve such skills. The awards are organized every two years and were presented for the third time in July 2009.
Through this program, METI aims to create a society where young people and children—the future working generation—are interested in monodzukuri as an occupation to be respected and admired.
