In order to effectively perform tasks associated with the METI mission, METI has today established the following overall framework.

• To encourage strategic exports via exports of advanced systems and infrastructure, METI established the new post of Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure and Advanced Systems Promotion.
• The Korea Office was established in the Northeast Asia Division.
• To implement Japan’s feed-in tariff scheme for renewable energy, METI reorganized the Photovoltaic Deployment Policy Office to the Renewable Energy Promotion Office, in the Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Department of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy.
