The Second Joint Study for an FTA among China, Japan, and Korea
The second joint study meeting on a free trade agreement (FTA) among China, Japan, and Korea was held from September 1 to 3 in Tokyo.
- The second joint study for an FTA among China, Japan, and Korea was held from September 1 (Wednesday) to 3 (Friday) in Tokyo.
- Relevant individuals from Japanese government, industry and academia attended, including Mr. Sadamori, Deputy Director-General for Trade Policy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Mr. Kagawa, Deputy Director-General, Economic Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Koguchi, Deputy Director-General, Customs and Tariff Bureau, Ministry of Finance; and Mr Haraguchi, Deputy Director-General for Environment and International Affairs, Minister's Secretariat, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. They were joined by Mr.Yu Jianhua, Director General of Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs,
Ministry of Commerce of China and Mr. Lee Taeho, Director-General for Free Trade Agreement Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Korea also attended. - At this meeting, participants exchanged opinions on issues such as commodity trades, rules, and cooperation, etc.
- The next meeting is scheduled to be held in China around December, where investment and services, etc. will be discussed.
