The 2005 Report on the WTO Inconsistency of Trade Policies by Major Trading Partners was released today by the WTO Committee's Subcommittee on Unfair Trade Policies and Measures of the Industrial Structure Council. This is the fourteenth annual report and the Report examines trade policies and measures implemented by Japan's major trading partners that are inconsistent with the WTO agreements and other international rules.
In response to the Report, METI is releasing the “METI Priorities on WTO Inconsistent Foreign Trade Policies” (“METI Priorities”). This document includes follow-up results on the 2004 version of the “METI Priorities” published on March 29, 2004, and details those issues that METI deems to be a high priority in implementing trade policy.
