In January 2000, the Corporate
Legal System Study Group (kigyo hosei kenkyukai) for Research
on Economic Activity and the Judicial System was established under
the Director-General of the Industrial Policy Bureau, Ministry of International
Trade and Industry.
The study group has considered
the reform in the judicial system mainly from the viewpoint of supporting
the economic activities, and, on May 9, 2000, published the report.
