2001FY Research Grants and Long Term Fellowship Awards
announced by Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)

According to HFSP, 53 international scientific teams out of 386 were selected in Research Grant while 81 scientists out of 665 were granted for Long-Term Fellow program. The Awardees' nationalities are from US, UK, Germany, and around the world.

Japanese scientists, 24 for Research Grants and 81 scientists for Long-Term Fellow program were also awarded.

The aim of HFSP is to promote, through international cooperation, basic research into complex mechanisms of living organisms, and to make the results of research available worldwide. The areas of research supported by the program are "brain functions" and "biological functions at the molecular level".

Japan, other Summit participating countries (such as US, Canada, Germany, France UK), EU, and Switzerland are supporting countries of HFSP.
