Question-and-Answer Session

US trade policy, import restriction measures on steel, etc.

Q: Is there any progress regarding the import restriction measures by the US? Is Japan going to cooperate with the US regarding Section 301 against China?

A: There have been various reactions from many countries after the US government announced the imposition of tariffs for steel and aluminum on March 22nd. As for Section 232, Japan has continuously been working with the US side in various forms. Since this is still under negotiation, I would like to refrain from making any further comments at this time.
As for Section 301 against China, the concrete measures by the US have not yet been announced. I will pay close attention to how this progresses.
