US import restriction measures on steel, etc.
Q: According to some media reports, the Japanese government is ready to take WTO countermeasures against the US import restrictive measures on steel and aluminum by notifying the WTO for a reservation of the right to do so. Would you give us the facts of the situation?
A: Japan is continuously working with the US based on the thorough review of the relevant US measures and their impact on Japanese companies.
In that sense, we are currently considering necessary actions under the WTO framework including the one you have just indicated, but at this time, we have not yet decide on any specific actions.
