1. About the Workshop

 In March, 2005, international experts joined an workshop in Tokyo to discuss how to promote CDM as an incentive mechanism to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy in developing countries. As a result, five working groups are established with the experts from all over the world. The tasks are to develop business-friendly, environmentally integral, and widely available CDM methodologies in the following area: 1) common baseline emission rates, 2) bundling approach for energy conservation projects, 3) consolidated energy conservation methodology, 4) transportation and 5) ESCO. The side event reports the Tokyo workshop and the work plan of the five area will be discussed with the audience.
