Making one step forward for people, the Earth and the sky. The Rs represent "reduce," "reuse" and "recycle." The three figures are taking one step forward, evoking a sense of progress. Orange represents people, green the Earth, and blue the sky. |

| The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Promotion Association |
 |
| Originally established in September 1991 as the Recycling Promotion Association, its name was changed to the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Promotion Association in June 2002, with the recognition that to solve Japan's serious waste problems, it would be essential to expand from the conventional approach focused only on one R (recycling), and use the 3Rs to create a society based on sound material cycles. Today the association's members include about 100 consumer groups and industry organizations. |
