The Industrial Structure Council is an official organization that responds to inquiries from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry on important topics relating to METI's policy, particularly improving the economic strength of the private sector and promotion of good international economic relations.
The Industrial Structure Council has established the Environment Committee. Under this committee, the Waste Prevention and Recycling Subcommittee deliberates on matters relating to METI's guidelines, policy reports and other topics relating to the implementation of recycling laws.
