The Great East Japan Earthquake that struck on March 11, 2011, along with the accident at TEPCO’ s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, drastically changed life in the region.
Even now, 14 years after the disaster, deep scars remain in some areas, and some are still unable to return home, forced to live as evacuees.
However, actions began immediately—not merely to restore what was lost, but to build a forward-looking transformation.
“What can I do?”—This question, asked by many, became a driving force, bringing together people, expertise and technologies from around the world. In Fukushima, new actions have taken root, and the circle of co-creation continues to expand.
The exhibition is built on the hope that those who resonate with the ongoing efforts in Fukushima will come together, forging even greater connections and sparking new collaborations.
FUKKO driving transformation in the Hamadori area of Fukushima—born from an unprecedented disaster and strengthened through co-creation—holds the power to inspire not only Japan but the world.
