State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry

INO Toshiro

Mr. Ino Toshiro was appointed State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and State Minister of the Cabinet Office on October 22, 2025. He was reappointed on February 19, 2026
Mr. Ino leads METI’s efforts to promote Japan’s industrial competitiveness.

Mr. Ino joins METI from the House of Representatives, where he has represented his constituency in Gunma Prefecture. Mr. Ino first won election to the House of Representatives in 2013. He has been successfully elected six times in total. Mr. Ino served as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Justice and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the Cabinet Office from 2016 to 2017 and as State Minister of Defense and State Minister of the Cabinet Office from 2022 to 2024.

Prior to entering the National Diet in 2013, Mr. Ino served as an attorney and a member of Isesaki City Council.

Mr. Ino is a graduate of Meiji University’s Faculty of Law. He was born on January 8, 1980, in Gunma Prefecture.
