Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry

OCHI Toshiyuki

Mr. Ochi Toshiyuki was appointed Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry on October 22, 2025.

Mr. Ochi is mainly responsible for strengthening Japan’s industrial competitiveness at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Prior to his current appointment at METI, Mr. Ochi served as an Advisor to the Central Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry and as the Executive Managing Director of Sankokensetsu Inc.
Mr. Ochi was first elected to the House of Councillors in 2022 and served as Deputy Director of the Economy, Trade and Industry Division, the Liberal Democratic Party, from 2024.

A graduate of Hosei University’s Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Ochi was born in Hiroshima Prefecture on March 9, 1978.
