Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry
OCHI Toshiyuki

Mr. Ochi Toshiyuki was appointed Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry on October 22, 2025. He was reappointed on February 19, 2026, and concurrently serves as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the Cabinet Office.
Mr. Ochi leads METI’s efforts to promote Japan’s industrial competitiveness.
Mr. Ochi joins METI from the House of Councillors. Mr. Ochi was first elected to the House of Councillors in 2022 and served as Deputy Director of the Economy, Trade and Industry Division, the Liberal Democratic Party, from 2024.
Prior to entering the National Diet in 2022, Mr. Ochi served as an Advisor to the Central Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry and as the Executive Managing Director of Sankokensetsu Inc.
A graduate of Hosei University’s Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Ochi was born in Hiroshima Prefecture on March 9, 1978.
