Feasibility Study for the Joint Crediting Mechanism

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) called for the submission of candidate projects for the FY2014 Feasibility Study (FS) for the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), and it has selected 16 projects through fair examination by an external committee. METI hereby announces these projects.

1. Outline of the FY2014 FS for JCM

The Government of Japan is now promoting the establishment of the JCM with developing countries, aiming to proactively encourage the dissemination of Japan’s world-class low-carbon technology and products to developing countries, so as to promote measures for global warming mitigation worldwide.

In this FS, for the purpose of revealing the usefulness of the JCM as well as Japan’s low-carbon technology and products, and propose a project scheme to disseminate such low-carbon technology or products.
