Announcement of the Winners of the Third Nippon Venture Awards

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hereby announces that it has selected the winners of the Nippon Venture Awards, which are subsection of the Prime Minister’s Awards. These awards are to honor venture businesses that have a positive impact on society. On February 20, 2017, Prime Minister Abe, METI Minister Seko and MAFF Minister Yamamoto granted the winners certificates of merit at the Prime Minister’s Office.

1. Outline of the program

This program aims to honor outstanding entrepreneurs and venture businesses for their creation of new businesses with positive impacts on society, as role models for young people and entrepreneurs who will play key roles in the next generation. This awards program aims to both raise public awareness of the importance of creating new business models and to raise public recognition of entrepreneurs, thereby encouraging people throughout the country to take on new challenges.

The committee of experts examined a number of promising venture businesses and selected the winners of the Prime Minister’s Award, the METI Minister’s Awards, the MAFF Minister’s Award, and Special Jury Awards.
