METI Released a Policy Concept Titled “Connected Industries” as a Goal that Japanese Industries Should Aim for

On March 19 and 20, 2017, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, attended CeBIT 2017, a global event for digital business, held in Hannover, the Federal Republic of Germany.

Taking this opportunity, METI released a policy concept titled “Connected Industries” as a goal that Japanese industries should aim for.

Outline of the Connected Industries (see the Appendix)

Under the policy concept, Japanese industries will create new added value through a variety of connected relationships among them. For details, see the Appendix.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will endeavor to promote a variety of measures to realize the policy concept.
