Japan, US and EU trade ministers meeting took place at WTO MC11 The first important steps forward for trilateral joint coordinated actions on market-distorting measures by third countries

Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan met with Mrs. Cecilia Malmstrom, European Commissioner for Trade and Ambassador Robert E. Lighthizer, United States Trade Representative met in Buenos Aires, Argentine Republic on the 12th of December 2017 on the margin of 11th WTO Ministerial Meeting(MC 11).

 At their first trilateral meeting, three Ministers agreed, in order to achieve a global level playing field, to enhance close cooperation in the field such as severe excess capacity, market distorting subsidies, state-owned enterprises, forced transfer of technologies.
After the meeting, they issued a joint statement to show their commitment to strengthen cooperation for achieving a global level playing field.

They also exchanged views regarding the WTO, and concurred on continuing the trilateral meeting of trade ministers.
