The Japan Patent Office
Aiming to encourage startups in their earliest business development stages to accelerate their business by taking advantage of intellectual property (IP), the Japan Patent Office (JPO) hereby launches a program titled “IP Acceleration program for Startups (IPAS).”
1. Outline of IPAS
To expand business, collaborate with large companies and develop business overseas, startups need to differentiate their business from other companies and establish their own brands, taking advantage of core technologies and ideas.
Under the IPAS, teams of IP mentors consisting of both IP and business experts will assist startups in jointly developing strategies that combine management and IP perspectives so that such businesses are able to scale.
2. Call for participating businesses
