Minister Seko Holds Meeting with H.E. Mr. Maksim Stanislavovich Oreshkin, Minister of Economic Development and Special Representative for Trade and Economic Cooperation with Japan of Russia

On October 7 (Sun.), 2018, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Minister for Economic Cooperation with Russia held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Maksim Stanislavovich Oreshkin, Minister of Economic Development and Special Representative for Trade and Economic Cooperation with Japan of Russia, Russian Federation, during Minister Oreshkin’s visit to Japan.
At the meeting, both sides confirmed the growing progress in Japan-Russia economic ties along with the expansion of their cooperation under the Eight-Point Cooperation Plan as evidenced by the establishment of many new projects, including in the fields of energy, medical care, and urban environment.
Aiming at further development in the future, the two ministers agreed that Japan and Russia will accelerate discussions to further enrich and expand the cooperation plan, including cooperation in the improvement of labor productivity and in the field of digital economy.
