On October 10, 2018, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) held the Third Japan-Viet Nam Joint Committee on Cooperation in Industry, Trade and Energy in Tokyo, under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and H.E. Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Industry and Trade, Viet Nam.
1. Outline of the meeting

Vietnamese side: Minister Anh and other officials
2. Summary of the results
At the meeting, both sides held discussions on the following issues:
- Cooperation in industries, including the automobile and its supporting industries and the foods industry;
- Cooperation involving trade in the Asia-Pacific region, including promotion of regional economic integration and implementation of economic partnership agreements; and
- Cooperation in the fields of resources and energy, including electricity and natural gas.
Following this, both sides confirmed that Japan and Viet Nam will advance continuous close cooperation in these fields.
In addition, Minister Seko and Minister Anh signed a Record of Discussion, minutes of discussion results on Japan-Viet Nam cooperative efforts in the fields of industry, trade and energy, which was confirmed by the committee
