Release of Videos Showing the Current Status of Fukushima

"Fukushima x What You can Do: Working in Fukushima" and "A Japanese Idol meets Fukushima"

October 16, 2018

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) created PR videos to show the current status of the reconstruction of the Soso District (Hamadori District) in Fukushima, which sustained especially significant damage due to the Great East Japan Earthquake and the subsequent accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. The videos are made available on METI’s website introducing measures to support reconstruction of Fukushima.

METI hereby releases two newly created videos titled "Fukushima × What You can Do: Working in Fukushima" and "A Japanese Idol meets Fukushima".

1. Purpose and Outline of the Videos

The video "Fukushima × What You can Do: Working in Fukushima" presents interviews with persons in Fukushima such as those who established a local brand and who resumed business as pioneers on the theme of what businesses are possible in Fukushima, with the aim of inviting companies to and increasing workers in Fukushima.

In the video "A Japanese Idol meets Fukushima," a Japanese idol from Fukushima Prefecture introduces viewers to the current living environment and daily lives of local residents in order to alleviate negative perceptions due to the nuclear power station accident.
