On October 22, 2018, the First Japan-EU High-level Industrial, Trade and Economic Dialogue will be held in Tokyo.
From the Japanese side, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs and officials from relevant ministries, along with Mr. Jyrki Katainen, Vice-President of the European Commission for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness and other European officials will participate in the dialogue.
At the dialogue, they will discuss various challenges in the field of industry, trade and economy such as international trade, digital economy, investment, environment, climate change, and energy.

The Japan-EU High Level Industrial, Trade and Economic Dialogue between Minister Seko, Minister Kono, and Vice-President Katainen was established on the occasion of the 25th Japan-EU Summit held in July 2018 in order to hold strategic discussions on a range of topics concerning industry, trade and economy in close cooperation with relevant Ministries and Directorate-Generals of Japan and the EU.
