The COUNTDOWN SHOWCASE is an exhibition under the theme of "developing an environment in which all people can experience comfortable daily lives without undue barriers and offering science and technology solutions toward achieving a society in which diversified people can play active roles." Cutting-edge technologies that are supposed to be implemented in society by 2020, when the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics are to be held, will be collectively exhibited. This is the first time for the exhibition to be held in Kyushu.

The COUNTDOWN SHOWCASE in Kyushu, which is held in collaboration with the 35th Traditional Craft Products Month National Assembly in Fukuoka, aims to create new innovation through integration of cutting-edge technologies that will pave the future of Japan and traditional technologies that have been developed in respective regions over a long period of history and to disseminate the attractions of Kyushu and Japan as a whole broadly in and outside Japan.
