On October 26 (Fri.), 2018, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), jointly with the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China, will hold the First Japan-China Forum on Third Country Business Cooperation in Beijing, bringing together business operators from a wide variety of fields, related ministers, and others. This forum will aim to further promote exchange between private companies in Japan and China, with a focus on Japan-China economic cooperation projects by the private sector in third countries.
The forum will provide keynote speeches by business operators and related ministers in Japan and China, an exchange ceremony of memorandums of cooperation, and sessions concerning four fields, i.e., transportation and distribution, energy and environment, industrial sophistication and financial support, and regional development. At these sessions, Japanese and Chinese companies will exchange proactive opinions.
From October 25 (Thur.) to 27 (Sat.), 2018, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, will visit Beijing to attend the forum.
Serving as an important platform for Japan-China economic cooperation in third countries, the forum will bring together representatives of governmental organizations and companies in a wide variety of fields in Japan and China and will aim to promote exchange of stakeholders in the two countries toward the realization of specific cooperative projects by companies in Japan and China.
This forum is expected to contribute to the development of many projects that satisfy international standards and bring about a wide range of benefits, including sustainable development, for Japan, China, and third countries.
