On October 29, 2018, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Minister for Economic Cooperation with Russia, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Yuriy Petrovich Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation.

On October 29, 2018, Minister Seko held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Trutnev.
Both sides engaged in discussion on Japan-Russia cooperation in the Far East Region, including the progress of more than 150 ongoing projects under the Eight-Point Cooperation Plan, and confirmed the advancement of the economic relationship between Japan and Russia. In addition, they agreed on continuous collaboration between the two countries, aiming for deepen Japan-Russia economic ties in the Far East Region.
