Results of Aggregated Number of SMEs and Small Enterprises Released (as of June 2016)

The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (SMEA) hereby announced that it aggregated the number of SMEs and small enterprises based on an analysis of the data in the 2016 Economic Census for Business Activity released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) on June 28, 2018.

Summary of the aggregate results

The number of SMEs and small enterprises came to 3.578 million as of June 2016. The number decreased by 0.231 million from those in 2014.
