On December 11 (Tue.), 2018, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industry & Production and Investment, with a status of Federal Minister, Pakistan, during Adviser Dawood’s visit to Japan.
Summary of the meeting
On December 11 (Tue.), 2018, Minister Seko held a meeting with Adviser Dawood, with a status of Federal Minister, Pakistan. They discussed the outcomes of the Sixth Pakistan-Japan Government-Business Joint Dialogue held on December 10 (Mon.), 2018 including approaches to solving issues that Japanese companies developing business in Pakistan are facing and measures for expanding Japan-Pakistan trade and investment.
Under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Akimasa Ishikawa, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and Adviser Dawood of Pakistan, the Sixth Pakistan-Japan Government-Business Joint Dialogue brought together Mr. Teruo Asada, Chairman, Japan Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee, and Mr. Sohail P. Ahmed, President, Pakistan Japan Business Forum (PJBF) and representatives of companies from both countries.
As outcomes of the dialogue, participants decided on the following actions: establish a monitoring committee to review the progress in efforts for solving issues involving investment environments; and convene an event where startups in Pakistan will pitch their projects to Japanese companies.
