Aiming to deepen and expand Japan-U.K. industrial cooperation, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), United Kingdom held the Second Japan-U.K. Industrial Policy Dialogue on December 14, 2018 in London.
Outline of the dialogue
The dialogue brought together Mr. Tatsuya Terazawa, Vice-Minister for International Affairs of METI, Mr. Alex Chisholm, Permanent Secretary for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and several other officials. Policy officials from Japanese and U.K. authorities gave briefings on progress of the respective working groups for space, aviation, energy and climate change, advanced manufacturing, and bio-economy. In addition, participants exchanged views on Japan-U.K. cooperation in a variety of fields including support measures for startups, energy innovation and healthcare.
