Minister Seko Holds Meeting with Mr. Maksim Stanislavovich Oreshkin, Minister of Economic Development and Special Representative for Trade and Economic Cooperation with Japan of Russia

In the afternoon on December 18 (Tue.), 2018, Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Minister for Economic Cooperation with Russia, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Maksim Stanislavovich Oreshkin, Minister of Economic Development and Special Representative for Trade and Economic Cooperation with Japan of Russia, during Minister Oreshkin’s visit to Japan.
At the meeting, both sides confirmed the progress in the eight-point cooperation plan and agreed that Japan and Russia will continuously accelerate discussions in order to further enhance bilateral economic ties and expand trade and investment.
Moreover, prior to this meeting, witnessed by the two ministers, a signing ceremony was held between a consortium comprised of three Japanese companies and a Russian company concerning a shareholders’ agreement on a project for development and operation of new terminals in Khabarovsk International Airport, one of the projects that Japanese and Russian companies have been advancing under the eight-point cooperation plan. This project is expected to contribute to further development of the hub airport in the Far East region of Russia, taking advantage of the experience and knowhow of Japanese companies.
