The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hereby published the Data Catalogue of National Projects (R&D projects commissioned by the national government) on its website.
METI hopes that this Data Catalogue will increase R&D and collaboration between companies and universities.
1. Purpose and background
METI considers it increasingly important to disseminate the achievements of national projects to the public, and to promote the utilization of R&D data by other companies and universities rather than to project participants only. Through efforts for utilizing R&D data concerning areas of expertise and other information, it is expected that open innovation will be promoted and the creation of new businesses and industrial competitiveness will be reinforced.
In order to further promote data utilization among companies and universities, METI published the National Project Data Catalogue, in which registered R&D data can be utilized, on its website.
2. Outline of the National Project Data Catalogue
The catalogue covers R&D data that is obtained or collected through research and development on technologies commissioned by METI from FY2018 and after, through METI’s budget.
Hereafter, R&D data will sequentially be registered in the data shown in the National Project Data Catalogue, in accordance with the progress of research and development started in FY2018 and after. Applicants who wish to utilize the data will be allowed to use the data after agreeing to the terms and conditions of use with an administrator of each data.
