G20 Digital Economy Multi-Stakeholder Conference to be Held

As an event prior to the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Trade and Digital Economy in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, to be held on June 8 and 9, 2019, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) will hold a G20 Digital Economy Multi-Stakeholder Conference on May 10, 2019, aiming to provide an opportunity for a variety of stakeholders, experts and others, including those who are not government officials, to hold discussions on major subjects of the G20 ministerial meeting.

1. Purpose

At the conference, from their standpoints, stakeholders will hold discussions on major subjects involving the issue of digital economy, e.g., reliable free flow of information, sustainability and inclusiveness and AI placing human beings at the core, which will be discussed at the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Trade and Digital Economy in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, to be held on June 8 and 9, 2019. The conference aims to contribute to the G20 ministerial meeting in June 2019 and to convey discussion results to a variety of sectors.
