First Japan-China Ministerial Dialogue on Industry between METI and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China Held (Summary of the Results)

Major results of the dialogue are as follows.
Japan and China agreed on the convening of the Second Japan-China Joint Public-Private Seminar on Autonomous Driving in Beijing around the fall of 2019 and also agreed on advancement of cooperation in standardization of safe assessment of autonomous driving under the framework of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
- The two sides agreed on the convening of the Third Japan-China Smart Manufacturing Seminar by the end of 2019.
- They agreed on future advancement of cooperation in the field of smart safety in industries (enhancement of safety).
- They also agreed that they should continue inter-government exchanges and inter-business cooperation in the field of ultra-high-definition television sets.
They exchanged views on the improvement of business environments involving handling of iron and steel, semiconductor and data.
