First Japan-China Ministerial Dialogue on Industry between METI and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China Held (Summary of the Results)

On June 10 (Mon.), 2019, a Japan-China Ministerial Dialogue on Industry was held between Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China. This dialogue was the first meeting since the agreement of its establishment was concluded in October 2018.

Major results of the dialogue are as follows.

Japan and China agreed on the convening of the Second Japan-China Joint Public-Private Seminar on Autonomous Driving in Beijing around the fall of 2019 and also agreed on advancement of cooperation in standardization of safe assessment of autonomous driving under the framework of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

They exchanged views on the improvement of business environments involving handling of iron and steel, semiconductor and data.
