The Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) opened a call for applicants for the indirect subsidy project involving the creation of highly advanced content that takes advantage of digital technology, which is part of the Japan Content Localization and Distribution (J-LOD) Subsidy Project under the FY2018 Secondary Supplementary Budget. In response, the examination committee of outside experts examined the applications VIPO received, and based on the examination results, VIPO decided to adopt eight projects.
1. Outline of the project
This subsidy project will be organized by VIPO, an organization adopted by METI as an operator or directly subsidized entity of the Subsidy Project J-LOD under the FY2018 Secondary Supplementary Budget, aiming to support entities in creating highly advanced content that takes advantage of digital technology to distribute the content to the world.
This subsidy project aims to: cultivate new markets for various forms of content that are integrated with technologies; demonstrate the attractiveness of the contents to overseas audiences; and contribute to creating a Japan boom through various efforts, e.g., the efforts that are attracting overseas tourists to Japan.
