METI and MIIT to Hold Second Japan-China Joint Public-Private Seminar on Autonomous Driving

On September 20 (Fri.), 2019, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), People’s Republic of China, will jointly hold the Second Japan-China Joint Public-Private Seminar on Autonomous Driving in Beijing from the perspective of fortifying Japan-China exchange and cooperation in the field.
1. Overview
Under the agreement reached between Mr. Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and H.E. Mr. Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, China, METI and MIIT jointly held the First Japan-China Joint Public-Private Seminar on Autonomous Driving in Tokyo in 2018. Following on from this seminar, on September 20 (Fri.), 2019, the Second Japan-China Joint Public-Private Seminar on Autonomous Driving will be held in Beijing.
2. Outline of the Second Japan-China Joint Public-Private Seminar on Autonomous Driving

Themes of speeches:
- Efforts for commercialization of autonomous driving technology;
- Methods of assessing safety of autonomous driving systems;
- Efforts for commercialization of autonomous valet parking systems; etc.
