The 13th Japan-China Energy Conservation and Environment Forum to be Held

On December 8 (Sun.), 2019, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan-China Economic Association, jointly with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Commerce, China, will hold the 13th Japan-China Energy Conservation and Environment Forum in Tokyo. This is a public-private joint forum between Japan and China in the fields of energy and the environment. METI hereby announces the overview of the forum as below.
Since its inauguration in 2006, the forum has been playing a role as a steadfast Japan-China platform for advancing cooperation in the fields of energy conservation and the environment. Public and private leaders in Japan and China have been making use of the platform as occasions to advance policy dialogues and business matching. 2. Program of the seminar

Afternoon: Business matching event between Japanese and Chinese companies
Note: In addition to working sessions, this event, as an opportunity for creating new business, provides participating companies with an occasion for attracting other participating companies to their solutions in the fields of energy conservation and the environment.

Opening remarks by Japanese and Chinese organizers and other speeches
Ceremony for exchanging executed documents for Japan-China cooperation projects

The program above is tentative as of the date of this release.
- The reception party is a good opportunity for networking with Chinese participants. METI highly recommends that participants attend the party. The participation fee for the party (lunch meal) is 5,000 yen per person. Please pay the fee at the reception counter on the date of the event.
3. Overview of the working sessions (six sessions to be held in total)
- Session on hydrogen;
- Session on electrified or smarter vehicles;
- Session on long-term trade (Japan-China cooperation to address global demand for water);
- Session on clean-coal technology and coal-fired power generation;
- Session on improving energy efficiency; and
- Session on circular economy.
4. How to apply (for the business matching event between Japanese and Chinese companies, the plenary session and the working sessions)
(1) Visit the following website titled “Call for Japanese participants in the 13th Japan-China Energy Conservation and Environment Forum,” and complete the prior registration form after clicking the button titled “Filing an Application or Changing Registered Information."
The closing date is November 15 (Fri.), 2019, at 17:00.

- Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, and registration will be closed as soon as the fixed number is reached. If an applicant finishes the registration procedures, they are able to modify the specific information contained in the registration. It is recommended to complete prior registration as early as possible to ensure participation. Please note that if one association or company reserves a large number of entry places, the secretariat of the forum may ask that company to reduce their number of participants in advance.
- For reasons of security of the venue, admission may be restricted. No person who is substitute for a registered person will be permitted to enter the venue without filing a prior notification.
(2) Guidance for participation, certificate and other details of the forum: The secretariat will notify registered participants of the details of the forum and other information by around early December 2019. Together with this correspondence, it will also notify them of how to obtain a participation certificate and other information.
