Japan Submitted the Registration Dossier of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan to the BIE
Japan to specify the theme and approaches to developing the site

On December 27, 2019, Japan submitted the Registration Dossier of the 2025 World Exposition in Japan, named as the “Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan” to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). Japan will aim to receive approval for the Registration Dossier at the BIE General Assembly scheduled to be held in June 2020.
Under Article 6 of the Convention relating to International Exhibitions , Japan, as the host country of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is required to submit the Registration Dossier of the exposition to the BIE, and on December 20 (Fri.), 2019, Cabinet Decision was made concerning Japan’s submission of the Registration Dossier to the BIE.

2. Outline of the Registration Dossier
The Registration Dossier of the exposition consists of eight chapters describing the theme, approaches to developing the site and other information concerning the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan and is a document showing a plan for convening the exposition as of today.
3. Coming schedule
June 2020: BIE General Assembly (Japan aims to have its Registration Dossier approved on this occasion.)
From October 2020 to April 2021: The Expo 2020 Dubai (Japan will start a full-fledged call inviting participating countries to the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.)
From April to October 2025: Opening of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
