Due to reorganization of regional trade licensing reception desks in the Kanto area, the reception desk at Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry (Saitama-shintoshin Joint Government Building) will be permanently closed on March 31st, 2020. Applicants are encouraged to use electronic application or visit International Trade Offices in Tokyo or Yokohama.
METI and its regional offices commit to providing professional services to enable proper expansion of foreign transactions and the maintenance of peace and security in Japan and in the international community through the minimum necessary control or coordination of foreign transactions. We believe this reorganization enables both international trade offices to improve administrative services through concentrating expert officers of this area.
Applicants for the following procedures are encouraged to use electronic application* or visit International Trade Offices in Tokyo or Yokohama after April 1st, 2020:
-Trade license concerning the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Law (import / export/ service transactions/ extensions of valid license etc.);
-Tariff quota for leather and leather shoes concerning the Act on Temporary Measures concerning Customs Law.
*Please note that electronic applications are not accepted for certain applications.
