On February 21, 2020, the Third Meeting on Japan-India Civil Nuclear Cooperation was held in Tokyo, bringing together officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), etc. and related industrial players of Japan as well as officials from the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and other stakeholders of India. Participants held discussions concerning the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
On February 21, 2020, the Third Meeting on Japan-India Civil Nuclear Cooperation was held in Tokyo.
The meeting brought together officials from MOFA, METI, MEXT, etc. and industrial players of Japan as well as officials from DAE and other stakeholders of India.
This meeting was held in pursuance of the Japan-India Joint Statement signed at the Japan-India Summit Meeting in September 2017. The strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy was discussed in the meeting.

25. The two prime ministers expressed satisfaction at the entry into force of the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of India for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy. They looked forward to a working group to strengthen bilateral cooperation in this field and reiterated their shared view that the Agreement reflects a new level of mutual confidence and strategic partnership in the cause of clean energy, economic development, and a peaceful and secure world.
