1. Starting acceptance of the requests
Today, May 1 (Fri,), 2020, METI started accepting requests for the Subsidy Program for Sustaining Businesses. Taking into consideration expansion of the novel coronavirus disease and aiming to speed up the delivery of subsidies in a safe manner, it will accept electronically filed requests in principle. For more information, visit the website of the secretariat of the program.
Moreover, METI is scheduled to open physical sites called “Sites for Supporting Filing Requests” to support businesses which are facing difficulties in electronically filing requests. METI will release more information at a later date on its website and on the secretariat’s website.
2. Publishing the Guide for Filing Requests for the Subsidy Program for Sustaining Businesses, FAQs concerning the program and other information
In conjunction with starting the request acceptance process, METI published the Guide for Filing Requests for the Subsidy Program for Sustaining Businesses and other information. It also released FAQs concerning the program and video clips for explaining the program. Please refer to them before contacting the call center which has been set up exclusively for the program.
3. Opening a call center exclusively for the program
METI opened a call center exclusively for the program. In response, the existing telephone contact counters at the SME Financial and Subsidy Consultation Counter and the Regional Bureaus of Economy, Trade and Industry will be integrated into the call center. METI will also start new consultation services using its LINE account and through other means.
As the telephone lines of the call center are expected to become very busy, please also make use of the METI website, the secretariat’s website, the LINE account and other information sources.
