Additional Sites for Supporting Filing Requests for the Subsidy Program for Sustaining Businesses to Open

Concerning the Subsidy Program for Sustaining Businesses, on May 12 (Tue.), 2020, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) started opening “Sites for Supporting Filing Requests for the Subsidy Program for Sustaining Businesses” in order to support businesses which are facing difficulties in electronically filing a request for the program.
As part of this effort, METI decided on 12 additional Sites for Supporting Filing Requests to be opened in total and hereby announces the details of these sites.
1. Site venues
METI will additionally open 12 sites in total. Consequently, the total number of such sites will come to 552 across Japan.
Note: Takasago Site, Hyogo Prefecture, closed on June 3, 2020, as scheduled.

*The acceptance of applications for the Subsidy Program for Sustaining Businesses has closed on February 15, 2021.

Moreover, it will also open other sites and dispatch mobile offices to regions where no such sites are scheduled to be opened in order to support businesses in filing requests for the program. METI will release more information at a later date.
2. Sites for Supporting Filing Requests
At these sites, personnel in charge will support businesses in electronically filing a request for the program. If you wish to make use of one of these sites, please bring copies of necessary documents (or original documents, if possible), with you to the site.
With the goal of preventing the expansion of the novel coronavirus disease, METI requires all businesses wishing to make use of the sites to register in advance. Please note that no businesses are able to receive support services at the sites without registering in advance. For details of how to register in advance, see Item 3 “How to register in advance” below.
3. How to register in advance
With the goal of preventing the expansion of the novel coronavirus disease, METI requires all businesses wishing to make use of the sites to register in advance. If you wish to enter any site, register in advance. Please note that no businesses are allowed to enter any site without registering in advance.
There are three methods of registering in advance: [i] online advance registration, [ii] advance registration by telephone (automated), and [iii] advance registration by telephone (operator response).
[i] Online advance registration
Visit the website of the secretariat of the program and register in advance.Note: First access the webpage for advance registration through the top page for the Sites for Supporting Filing Requests, then select the site that you wish to visit, fill in the necessary information and complete the advance registration by clicking the button “Advance registration for visiting the site.”
[ii] Advance registration by telephone (automated)
Call the telephone number exclusively for acceptance of advance registration.* Follow the automated audio guidance and use your push buttons (keypad) on the telephone to complete the advance registration.Note: For this method, you need to input the “site number” of the site that you wish to visit. Please confirm the site number of the site before calling the telephone number. The site numbers are accessible by sending a facsimile to the same telephone number or by calling the following “Contact Counter for Advance Registration for the Sites for Supporting Filing Requests by Telephone (Operator Response).”

[iii] Advance registration by telephone (operator response)
The Contact Counter for Advance Registration for the Sites for Supporting Filing Requests by Telephone (Operator Response) will accept requests for advance registration for the Sites for Supporting Filing Requests.
Note: No contact counters other than the contact counter shown below will accept inquiries about advance registration for such sites. Thank you for your understanding regarding this inconvenience.

4. Documents that businesses should bring with them to the sites
Personnel in charge in the respective sites will support businesses in electronically filing a request for the program based on the documents that the businesses bring with them.
Please prepare the following documents before visiting the desired site and bring them to the meeting.
Moreover, if you wish to apply for any special treatment involving the request after referring to the Guide for Filing Requests for the Subsidy Program for Sustaining Businesses, please also bring written evidence and other necessary documents for such treatment.
Copies of necessary documents (original documents are desirable, if possible)
Documents that SMEs and other entities should prepare and bring to the meeting
- One copy of Appended Table I of the Tax Return* and two copies of a written document explaining the overview of the company’s business (three copies in total)
(These documents should explain information in the fiscal year immediately before the fiscal year of the target month.)
*Note: The Appended Table should be a document with a date stamp showing the receiving date. If such table was filed through the e-Tax service, the date stamp can be replaced by a receipt notification. - Documents showing monthly business revenues of the target month, e.g., sales ledgers and books
(These documents should clearly show the target month, e.g., XXX 2020.) - One copy of a bankbook under the name of the applicant corporation (one copy of a bankbook under the name of the representative of the corporation is also acceptable.)
Documents that individual business operators and other entities should prepare and bring to the meeting
- Tax Return
For those who use a blue return
One copy of Appended Table I of the Tax Return in 2019* and two copies of a Financial Statement for Blue Return involving income tax (three copies in total)
For those who use a white return
One copy of Appended Table I of the Tax Return in 2019* (one copy in total)
*Note: These documents should be those with a date stamp showing the receiving date. If such documents were filed through the e-Tax service, the date stamp can be replaced by a receipt notification. - Documents showing monthly business revenues of the target month, e.g., sales ledgers and books
(These documents should clearly show the target month, e.g., XXX 2020.) - One copy of a bankbook under the name of the applicant
- One identity verification document/card, e.g., identification document with information on the applicant’s address, name and clear face photo
