Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence Founded

In the evening of June 15 (Mon.), 2020, a Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (or Global Partnership on AI: GPAI), an international initiative to guide the responsible and “human-centric” development and use of AI, was founded. In response, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), decided to participate in the partnership.

In response, METI, together with MIC, decided to participate in the partnership.

Through this participation, METI and MIC will continue to contribute to international discussions toward implementation of the G20 AI Principles in accordance with the stance of “human-centered” AI agreed to at the G20 Ibaraki-Tsukuba Ministerial Meeting on Trade and Digital Economy.
