List of Travel Medicine Clinics and Hospitals Providing PCR Tests for the Public

July 3, 2020

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) hereby announces a list of travel medicine clinics, as of July 2, 2020, at which people are able to obtain a certificate certifying a negative result of a PCR test.

METI will establish an exceptional framework concerning the entry into or departure from Japan of human resources and others, which is considered necessary for the purpose of businesses. Under this framework, METI will conduct a pilot effort for stipulating additional sanitation measures that such human resources should satisfy in parallel with maintaining existing border control measures.

This framework may require a Japanese national who intends to depart from Japan to file in advance a certificate certifying a negative result of a PCR test in response to a request from his/her destination country.

In light of this situation and for the convenience of business travelers and the companies to which they belong, METI hereby announces a list of travel medicine clinics and other hospitals, as of July 2, 2020, at which people are able to obtain a certificate certifying a negative result of a PCR test.*

*Note: When you make use of the list, directly contact your desired travel medicine clinic or other hospitals in the list, confirm the terms of use of the certificate and make a decision by yourself on whether or not the services that such clinic provides, satisfy the requests of your destination country.
