In light of the impacts caused by recent expansion of the novel coronavirus disease, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) decided to cancel the Career Education Awards and the Awards for Partnerships for Career Education Promotion in FY2020.
In line with this, METI will also cancel the FY2020 Symposium for Partnerships for Career Education Promotion, an event in which winners of these awards are announced.
1. The Career Education Awards
The Career Education Awards program was established in FY2010, aiming to encourage and raise public awareness of enterprises’ and economic organizations’ approaches to supporting education. In FY2011, METI also began granting the Economy, Trade and Industry Minister’s Awards (METI Minister’s Awards) to such entities that have achieved the most outstanding achievements under the Awards program.
2. The Awards for Partnerships for Career Education Promotion (jointly held by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and METI)
METI and MEXT jointly established the Awards for Partnerships for Career Education Promotion program in FY2011 with the aim of encouraging and raising public awareness of efforts conducted jointly and collectively by people involved in education (schools, boards of education, etc.), those in local governments (executive agencies, etc.), communities and society (NPOs, PTA organizations, etc.), and business communities (economic associations, enterprises, etc.), for the purpose of promoting efforts for career education focusing on schools.
